Hi guys,

I have started to have problems with my focus again... As I was driving along today on my way to work today.. the car started to feel and sound rough.. On the dashboard a orange/yellow light came on with a pic of the engine on it.. it flashed for about a minute or two. When I got to work I checked the oil level, which seemed fine. I just changed the oil and oil filter last saturday. Along with the drive belt.
Anyone have any idea what could have/be cuasing the engine to feel and sound rough.
My car is a 2001 ford focus 1.6 ghia manual with 67K~miles on it.
I started the engine again.. it is still running but feels and sounds rough
Thanks in advance guys :)

cool, thanks guys.. can i keep on driving till tomorrow morning when I can do this? As i am at work and have no tools with or new spark plugs to try.
I have a question.. which why would this suddenly occur when i am driving??

Has it just started raining again where you are? I find these things tend to happen when a wet period sets in.

If the ECU light was up for more than a few seconds, then the code will likely be stored, it might be worth going to an indy and getting it plugged in.

it was raining slightly, no heavy rain.. I just need to be able to get home tonight after i finish work at about 9pm.. tomorrow morning when i have my tools i can check everything.
I am hoping the car will not break down on the 25~ mile trip back home from work.

little update.. on the drive home the orange engine light came on again and stayed on constantly

Perhaps your best bet would be to get a garage with suitable diagnostic equipment to check what errors are logged on the ECU. Should be able to give a good idea of where the problem lies.

I would go to a garage too. The check engine light can come on for a number of reasons as previously stated (ignition, spark plugs etc.) but the last time it happened to me it was a lambda sensor in the exhaust. Hope its nothing too serious :)

it was the coil pack.. after the changing the coil pack. the engine management light was still on.. but there was no problems with the car. I had to pay £25 to get the car hooked up to a ecu reader then had to reset the error code. The engine management light has not come back on since.
