Ford Focus radio code problem

Hoping you guys might have some suggestions.

I've got a 2004 Focus and since yesterday the radio has started repeatedly asking me for the code. The trouble is I'm entering the correct code (it has worked in the past after I had to disconnect the battery) but now after entering it I get a couple of seconds where the radio works, but it then asks me for the code again.

The odd thing is I haven't done anything to the car in the first place to cause this; it just started happening yesterday when I started the car in the morning

Any ideas how to fix this?

lose power connection on the back?

Definitely a bad power connection.

How would I check/fix that? Do I need to remove the unit?

Yes. You will probs need the removal keys for the unit. Some units can be removed without them tho. Not worked on a focus so can't really help sorry.

I would check the battery connections first if it has only just started and make sure everything is secure there.

bad power connections either in the back of the radio or on the battery (has the car been affected otherwise it would be battery) or 'possibly' i bad fuse/loose fuse connection although highly unlikely.

i have an 01 focus and i just used 2 really long thin blades from screwdrivers to do it if its similar.
