Ford Focus St-3 advice

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202409033585328

Hi,

I was hoping for some advice. I found this car and hopefully going to look at it this week and test drive. Has anybody got any experience on owning one and what it's like? Mainly for the servicing and running costs for parts.

Thanks,

Jamie

I'd be wary mate that looks like a real suss ST on that link

That link takes me to...

Volkswagen CC

2.0 GT TDI BLUEMOTION TECHNOLOGY 4d 138 BHP, £35 ROAD TAX, FSH, FSH 11 STAMPS, FULL MOT,SAT NAV ETC

;)

That looks dodgy as hell. Worst body kit ever. So bad it doesn't even look like a Focus St anymore. It reminds me of a VW Passat CC. And a diesel one at that.

How many miles do you do? Nor sure a diesel that does 0-62 in over 8 seconds should be sold as an St which makes the ST-3 a trim level in my mind. Also so many owners make me think most moved it on when they realised is is a Sheep in Wolfs clothing. If you do less than even 12k miles a year I'd avoid a modern diesel. They're fraught with issues if you don't do enough miles for them to work properly.

Yea that isn't a performance car at all really. 8+ sec is normal hatchback performance.

If you want a fast Ford, get a proper one.

Aaah it's the diseasel!

Me mate has one and I've used it a few times, bar the teim.nowt really to separate it from a 2.0 diseasel really.

The number of owners would really put me off in all honesty might be soem underlying issue they've all noticed and got shot.

If you want a nippyish hatch, that looks a bit bit different but wanna save a bit cash (likely on insurance too) have a look at the mk2 mazda 3mps. You'd probs be paying less than half the cost of that focus, expect mpg.of around 25ish
