I have a ford focus (2000/01) with the CD6000 car stereo. There is the connect2 Ctvfox001 aux interface which enables you to connect other audio devices like a mp3 player to the stereo. Has anyone used this and know whether you can use this to connect a mp3 player and still be able to use the built-in CD player on the car stereo? This adapter connects direct to the OEM CD Changer Port and simulates an original CD Changer.. so will it stop you from using the single built-in cd player already on the stereo?
Thanks in advance guys :)

I've had a couple of these Connect2 interfaces on VAG cars now so cant speak for Fords specifically, but if it plugs in via the CD changer port then you won't lose use of the onboard CD player. You usually activate CD changer mode by pressing the CD button on the stereo twice then press it again if you want to switch back to playing regular CDs.

^This^

I've got a connects2 in my Civic, and as said it plugs into the rear cd changer port on the head unit so you don't lose any of the headunit functions.

I've got one in my car, works perfectly :)

There's a small silver box which has an RCA sound input, so you need a cable which has a 3.5mm Jack on one end and RCA sound on the other.

I ran the cable in my mondeo along where the dashboard meets the carpet and it comes out here:

I have one more question, underneath the front passenger seat I have a cable and connector, does anyone know what this is for (is it for a CD changer)?

Hi Guys

Sorry to dig this up again, is the CTVFOX001 still the easiest way to connect my iPhone to the stereo to play my songs from? They seem to be around the £26/£28 online unless someone knows of a cheaper source :) this is for my 02 Ford focus

Many thanks Mart

I use one in my car although not a Focus they are the best way of getting am aux input on an old stereo without getting some garish aftermarket stereo. They also provide much better sound quality that those FM transmitters.

Hi Andy

I've tried the transmitters and its shocking to say the least :(

Will look at the mentioned cable in that case ;)

Many thanks
