Ford Focus styling help

you shoulda just saved up for an st170 really

Yea, instead of spending less than £500 on wheels and some pretty fogs he should have spend £6k on a disproportionately expensive newer Focus.

For some people, performance of a car is only one part of what they look for.

the personal insult is a bit ott. ill leave off the raw nerve, you shoulda just saved up for an st170 really

Not really you are trolling, Have labeled me a chav and brought next to nothing constructive to this thread. You don't even seem open to accept other peoples opinions or views so yea maybe you should leave.

but im not spending money on and changing parts of my car that have no functional benefit whatsoever and at the end of it all its still on stilts so looks no better

Rubbish. It looks a lot better. And for some people, driving around in a car they like the look of is important. Now, Im no fan of modding myself, but I can appreciate that Tom is spending money to get the car looking how he wants it. I doubt he is under any illusion that he is now driving an ST170, but it shares much of it's styling.

I fitted clear indicators to my own Focus. No because it made any practical difference, but it did make the car look better and it was a fairly cheap modification. Some of us actually like to have cars which are smartly presented because we use them every day and other people see them. Why not spend a little cash to make your car that little bit better looking?

Well thats your choice but surely you can understand that to some people, having something look nice is important to them?

but the car looked perfectly ok before, though. even the earliest foci still look fresh.

at the end of it though, this is down to personal preference. whether you value how much other people are impressed by your car enough to spend silly (imo) money on it (silly, because the fogs, as an example, have no use)

i think, at the end of it all, this is down to impressing other people. hence why fox did the exhaust job on his mondeo and the m badges on his 5 series and tom trying to make his focus look like the better model. just from what ive observed

insurance his too much for him or else he would, what group is it again tom?

15 it's the same as the RS afaik. Infact most people can get insured on the RS for barely anymore than the ST. Shame the insurance is absurd otherwise I'd of had one a fair bit ago. Insurance only seems to be reasonable on them over 21.

Err the reason I did the exhuast on my Mondeo was becuase I needed to move it to the other side to get the bumper to fit?

and the m badges on his 5 series

Most of which are factory fit, the one that isn't has impressed precisely zero people, so good job it wasn't a motivator eh :p

The reason Ive added a few visual mode to my car is to make it a bit more individual and to improve the looks. Adding the clear indicators made a massive difference IMO and it looks far better than the other 5  MK1 Focuses on my street. If i could get ST front lights and fogs for mine i would also buy these at the price Tom paid as they look great.

Will you be taking it to Maccy D's afterward?

Yes, I'm going to do wheelspins and burnouts and big it up with my fresh new bump strip.

They is gonna be well impressed. Becuase thats why we do things to our cars, to impress people we dont know and will never meet again ;)

The mods were far from silly money and considering how effective they are and how much I appreciate my car more I think they are worth the cash. The ST parts always sell fast so I doubt I'd have much trouble recouping a lot of the cash spent on them when it comes to sell and go back to standard :)

As Fox said performance isn't everything it's only one part and while I can't afford the performance just yet I can at least afford the looks :)

Again not trying to make it something it isn't.
