Ford Focus styling help

Are those the Depo rear lights?

Yeah, they look darker in the pic because they're upside down. I'm pleased with how they look on the car and the light shines through just as good as the oem lights. I need to get some silver amber bulbs for the front repeaters though as you can easily see the amber bulb through the plastic.

I just got some mud flaps for Christmas from fordpartsuk. they really set it off, makes the rear end look ever wider! :D .

Loving that black collection!

I did that to mine and it does make them look so much better!

Yeh they kinda finish off the wheel arches, I found they made the car look lower too. Managed to lose one of mine on the M6 though in heavey rain! :(

Edit: Been looking around for a 206 rear wiper.. Do I need the motor or anything? Or will it just clip onto the standard Focus one?

I've just got my 206 wiper today and tried to fit it.. Is there an easy way of getting the existing wiper off the back of the car? I've got the bolt off but for the life of me cannot get the wiper arm off!

Have also just swapped my old wheels for new Superts over the weekend after slightly buckling one of my 18s, shame cos I loved my old wheels! :(

Tom|Nbk, how does the tailpipe fit?

I was looking at these, many of the aftermarket ones you can see the tailpipe inside the chrome trim and it looks terrible, does the one from Ford fit any different?

Phil

Yes,

Some of the aftermarket ones have a few pointless screws which don't really hold the tail pipes on at all.

The Ford one has a massive hoseclip built into the pipe so you just tighten it up with a screwdriver and it fits solid on.

Love mine, really does make a massive difference

Tug it as hard as you can.

Spray on some WD40 aswell once you take the bolt off and leave it to soak for a while then just yank the thing as hard as you can, but just take care when doing it.

What i mean is, when you look at the tailpipe at the end (the exhaust tip, as it were.) can you see the original tailpipe inside the new chrome one?

Phil

Not really unless you peer right in level with the exhaust.

Wave good bye to your paintwork, well known the Ford mudflaps wear away the paint.

So you could in theory whip a bit of the tailpipe off with a hacksaw so its less visible? :)

I have a real pet hate for seeing the original tailpipes inside the new ones, its whats making me want to buy an aftermarket backbox, challenge is to find one thats not much noisier than standard!!

You wouldnt need to touch either. The Ford item totally covers the old one up it was designed to come with the Focus Collection so is the perfect fit/look for the Focus, I wouldn't use any others.

I've had many people think I actually have a new backbox they only realise when they get right up close and see.

The noise they're hearing is the noise of my stock airbox with no resonator :D

The tailpipe will cover the whole stock exhaust up and leave another inch or so, so it's well hidden but In theory you could cut a inch or so off your tail pipe if you wish

Thats how I ended up doing it.. Went and got some WD40 and it came off like a dream! Looks a lot better now so I'm happy.. Fitted my new Nightbreaker bulbs as well in work today so I could actually see things properly driving home.

Am liking having 17s on my car now as opposed to 18s, makes the ride so much better and seems to handle better too.

Mine came with a little piece of sticky plastic to stick on the paintwork around the mudflap to stop it wearing it. :)
Am still waiting for my replacement one to come after I lost one on the M6 in heavy rain!

Yeh it is only a thin little thing.. As long as theyre on pretty solid though they shouldn't move too much I wouldn't have thought.

I prefer the look with them on, makes it look lower and just kinda finished off the wheel arches i think. :)

I have fit these and can honestly say that I can't see how they would rub and wear the paint away as they don't actually move :) .
