Ford Focus styling help

Most Focus lights suffer from condensation even my current ones do, if there is no holes in the unit and the dust panel is fully secured they should be fine.

Maybe you could sell me them cheapish and see how I get on, would save me a fair bit ;).

The condensation does go, but its just does my head in, hence the change, will let you know once i get them changed :)

Good job I read this as I was getting worried because the fogs on my focus are misty with condensation :(. Glad to hear it's not just me.

I'm just waiting on the front clear indicators for mine now, once fitted it will look pretty much identical to DannyW's old one. I'm thinking of gettin the mudflaps for it though as it does make a subtle yet noticeable difference.

I suppose this counts as a styling question as the result will be visible on the interior. I'm in the process of fitting some component speakers in the front doors of my car and i cant decide weather to have the tweeters visible on the door panel such as this:

Its supposed to sound better if its mounted like this but i don't know if i dare to drill my door panel . I cant see any other way of doing it, unless i can mount it under the door panel but so that its directed out of the door grill.

Has anyone else here fitted component speakers in their Focus?, and if so how did you go about it?.

EDIT:

Just took a pic of my side panel with the tweeter in question placed where i think it will go. Its fits in well IMO and if it does go wrong i could just replace the grills?.

Well i went for it in the end and I'm quite happy with the results :), the tweeter is black and silver so fits in nicely. The only downside is that I'll now have to sell the car with these speakers in unless i can get hold of some replacement grills.

is it easy to take the door panel off on the focus, I want to upgrade the speakers on my ST170 but am paranoid about doing after the nightmare that it was on my old vectra, there was all kinds of brittle plastic lugs that fell to pieces, it was never the same again.

Yeah its a piece of cake mate, takes about 5 mins if that. You just need a flat head screwdriver, a pz2 screwdriver and a phillips 2 screwdriver.

Behind the interior door handle (the one that unlocks the door to open it) you should see a small screw cover, pop that off then undo the pz2 screw.

Then you need to remove the cover from the interior door handle below the one you have just removed the screw from. To do this just use a wide bladed flat head driver to lever it off from above. If that wont work then a butter knife or similar may do it. Just be careful not to mar the plastic! Once its off there should be 2 pz2 screws behind, take these out but make sure to use a pz2 driver as they're pretty tight.

Then there are 4 or 5 screws around the edge of the door trim, remove these.

The door handle/ electric window switch unit can now be removed, it should just pull out, but make sure to disconnect the leccy window switch.

The door should now just lift out, make sure to lift up as there is a water channel at the top thats clips onto the door.

Here's my 20 minutes worth of work today :) .

Both tweeters are in place and wired up, all wires are soldered and I'm ready to hook it all up tomorrow :).

1CE, not bad for 20 mins work mate, those leads really smarten the engine bay up.

It makes enough noise as it is :D lol ! I now have a ceramic coated focus central manifold on its way :D can't stop grinning hehe.

Did you managed to get it all hooked up Mark? Sound good?

MOT tomorrow morning....will let you know the results :p

I'll get some sound clips when it's on.
