... with the central locking.

On the drivers door, specifically. It locks fine, but won't unlock. You have to unlock the car on the passengers side and then get in the drivers side, which is a bit of a pain.

Does anyone know how I can fix it? It's clearly working one way, why would it lock but not unlock?

Probably the solenoid not firing properly. These have varying costs. The SAAB as a broken one for its boot and SAAB want well over £100 for one.

My MX5 passenger door only unlocks. It tries to lock, the "pin" moves a little bit but then it gives up.

I doubt it's the solenoid, because it locks and unlocks the central locking fine using the handle inside.

I've just noticed that when I put my key in and take it out again, there is rust on the key that wasn't there before. Maybe the lock has rusted up?

I'll have to take the door card off tomorrow and take a closer look, can't really clean the barrel from the outside.

EDIT: Also, the key doesn't turn the full amount like it does in the passengers side lock, feels like it's getting stuck.
