If its going to the heater/bulk head then Yes just block it off. Get it sorted before winter though or she'll do her nut.

excelent i will have a go at it tomorrow i epect it will be a dashboard off to fit a new heater so it will be bypassed for now thanx for the help :D

Can't say whether it's a dash out job as you may get access by doing a Mork. (feet on head rests head under dash) It's been around a year since I've had my head under a KA bonnet so I'm not the best to advise on the job.I know one thing though & that's nowt is hard to do on a Ka even if you do have to get the dash out. I've by passed many a heater though as I am the man for a good bodge on old knackers. :D
Don't forget the heater is a circuit so block both ends & lift the carpets & open the windows etc to dry the carpets & floor properly if wet, Shouldn't be an issue with all this sun though so you/she got lucky.

No need to go through the dashboard to replace the Ka heater matrix. Me and a friend did it on his girlfriends Ka about a year ago. Fiddly job which involves taking the cowling around the bottom of the windscreen off, but we had no need to go inside the car.
