5x the bandwidth of ddr4:eek:

15x faster than ddr3

So this will replace the memory sticks, and fit onto boards like the cpu does or what?

Can see this costing a fair bit.

think its coming for servers/high end pc's and laptops

I don't like how its soldered into the motherboard though,if it fails then rma time for the whole board

But by the look of those "Cubes" You would require what looks like CPU or Zif sockets to fit them in and they take up far more space than a dim slot..

Sounds interesting, needs more details :) I'm quite curious what 'when executing conventional code' in reference to the use of DDR4 alongside it, does this require custom code to be usable due to it's logic die or some such?

Though the 5x DDR4 and 15x DDR3 has me slightly concerned at their ability to count, DDR4 isn't 3x the bandwidth of current DDR3 or anywhere near it!

boo to soldering bits to mobos though :( I like the modular nature of PCs!

It would be nice to see something related to pc's have a large jump in performance. It all seems so incremental these days. Quite boring really, the industry needs something to create a bit of a buzz and get people to open their wallets :)

sockets not solder!

although at this rate pc's of the future [if the cloud hasn't taken over by then] will just come as a box, you can't change anything in it, like macs.

good for average joe, bad for the master race
