Personally I go with the 'philosophy' that air will always find a way in but it might struggle to leave a case, even with passive convection, so would be looking to pull the air out the top.... you'd technically have 6 fans pulling air out of the case, that air needs to be replaced from somewhere so air will be pulled in to replace it whether you use a fan or not.I had contemplated it. The problem I think is that the kraken is drawing air from in the case and exhausting it out the side. With heat rising it'd be a bit pointless having fans at the top blowing air in, so they too would have to exhaust. But that then means you've got nothing pumping air into the case, almost creating a vacuum, air will then only get pulled in by air pressure through the vents.
Having said that I'm clearly running a different 'philosophy' in general because I have my side mounted rad pulling cold air in from outside...
