So i reset the admin password of my desktop the other day, and then promptly forgot it.
Anyway having searched old threads from the forums, and the interweb for a bit and having tired all the possible solutions i stumbled upon this site:

was a bit weary about it at first but it is mentioned on a couple of password recovery tip sites, pus it's completly free if your willing to wait, so i d/loaded the program.
Behold 3 days later i went back to the site and it actually worked. Turns out i'd managed to forget as well as mis-spell the new password
feeling like a bit if a pr**k now tbh
So for all those people like me who will no doubt search the forums, i suggest the above. I'll post again if i begin to notice anything unusual with my pc as the program boots the pc into DOS from a floppy.
