Hi My uncle has forgotten his password on his toshiba satellite pro a 100 , ive had it for a few days now and i tried to remove the CMOS battery but its soldered on to the circuit board/motherboard.

Now hes ringing asking when its gonna be done.

What can I do?

I cant do anything on the laptop cus a password window comes up straight after it shows all the memory and laptop info.

Smash it with a sledge hammer. That should reset it (into tiny pieces).

Seriously, no idea.

Controversial sig btw

Dismantle the laptop and removed the BIOS battery, doesnt work on IBMs but pretty sure it works on Toshiba, which IMO are Tosh :p

Tell him the problem with the solder and give him it back, it's not your problem he has forgot his password he will need to get it sorted elsewhere.

I for one am sick of family members using me as free technical support I have better things to do with my spare time.
