Format hdd

Hi quick question can i format my hdd without a windows disc??
I can boot from sd card or usb flash stick.
Is there anyway to make it bootable and format my hdd??
I have a laptop running win xp( this isn't the laptop i want to format)

Yes

One of many options is to use something like Gparted or any other form of linux live cd/usb containing software to reformat/partition hard drives.

You can get a Command Prompt, you can use the santax, "format C:\", [ without the quotes] at the C prompt, or in disc Management where you right click and select format.

There is a guide HERE that will help create a bootable USB stick.
You can use this stick to format your hard drive, it's the way that I would recommend.
