I want to format the partition of my HD that has Windows on it but I think my floppy drive is dead so how I can I get into DOS to do this? Also, can someone recommend me a program that will save my Windows setting etc so that if I mess up my install again, I can just overwrite the corrupt files?

Why not boot from Windows CD and format it that way?
It only gives you the options to repair or to install a fresh copy. I already tried to repair it but it's still messed up. I'm pretty sure I tried to install it again fresh too but that didn't help either!

boot of the cd - choice freash install; on diskpart screen where you see the paritions. Delete the windows one, then press enter on unpartition space; that will give you the option to format....

What that man said.
Ok but the other 2 partions I have already have data on them that I don't want to format. Will it allow me to format the C drive and then install straight on to it?
