How do i do this.

I have got into the boot up screen with the xp disk in but all i get is repair or install another windows installation which it recommends not to on the same partition.

I just want to scrap my old install and install a fresh :(

Im so confused what i need to do.

Anyone point a nub in the right direction. Its been so long since i had to do this.

You press Esc to install to another partition, then when it asks you where you want to install it, you delete the existing partition (using 'D', iirc). Then you end up with a load of blank space.

Either that, or you select the same partition, and it'll ask you if you want to format it first.

So if i delete the existing partition does that remove all the xp files on the disk and do i have to create a new partition ?

Sorry i must sound dumb :(

Either way will end up removing your files. You don't have to create a new partition manually if you want to use the whole disk, as windows will do that for you.

The on screen instructions are fairly helpful.
