formating pc.... what about Itunes?

Just about to wipe my pc and start again, been having loads of bugs after a virus so it needs to be done, I just wanted to double check on the whole itunes thing, I take it that I just backup my ‘itunes’ folder with my purchased songs in and then rebuild pasting that folder in the correct location and sign in as normal?

Oh and I need to Deauthorize before the format and reauthorize the new rebuild yeah?

just copying your "itunes" folder in my music should work on its own

at least it did when i clean formatted and installed vista.

once you've used them all you get a "deauthorize all" option - but you can only do that once a year.

ive only got albums ive ripped in my collection so didint know about the de-authorize stuff.

Hmmm is this Itunes worth downloading for PC? I always use media player / real player.

MP11 is much better than Itunes for playing imho

its required to get stuff on your ipod, and its no different for drag and drop onto your player, if not better

but i certainly prefer playing back stuff on WMP11 as i like the Album view.

Indeed it is, panic not about your ripped music! Why don't you use WMP for your ripping? I always use it for the fact that it does MP3.

I REALLY like iTunes, but I'm really starting to wonder whether it's only me in the world that likes it.

Mind you, for it to be good to have to have all you ID3 tags up to date, and seeing as I'm extremely anal about them it works brilliantly for me.

i use itunes cos i need to for my ipod, although i like it for parties and play list, my default player is

winamp 2.81

I use iTunes because I can. But more importantly, it does what I want it to do, when I want it to do it. Plus some other stuff too.

Tried Winamp plugin - crap
Tried realplayer - hello duplicate songs on my iPod?
Went back to iTunes - Hello, everythings working.

Will be fun moving all my music over to my MacBook when I get one later in the year.
