Formatted my mp4 player/usb drive but the capacity is wrong?Help!

Hey, I got a 2GB MP4 Player yesterday from my Aunt and was working fine yesterday and my PC showed the capacity as 2GB so I loaded some songs on. Today after putting some more songs and a few videos the thing stopped playing certain songs. The two folders I made filled up with weird folders with weird characters,which I could not delete. So I thought best thing to do is format it, I did that but now it says I've only got less than 1GB?

What happened?Can get it back to 2GB?

What file system did you do it in, try again with something different.

I tried it with .FAT file which is what it was I think. Will try FAT32 then

Ahh, I think that's the problem do it with FAT32.

check the manual for it.
has it got a `hidden partition?`this has caught me out once or twice,for storing`secret

`info pics etc

The manual is pretty non-existent,it has poor english and my chinese is not that good to read it and make sense of it.

Theres no hidden partition I think, I dunno what happened,surely formatting it wont make it go from 2gb to 1gb?

loads of fakes there, where 2gb is actually a lot less

My Aunt got it from HK(thats where she lives) So I dunno if its fake or not. Just remembered a weird thing before I formatted, when I checked the capacity it says the capacity(around 2gb) and free space is 0bytes but when I clicked on the folder inside the mp4player and checked properties it says its 110gb :confused:

Me guessing its fake

With the thing plugged in to your PC and recognised as a drive, what does Disk Management say about it?

It says the capacity is 980mb

Ahhhh bummer, I asked my Aunt to get me a MP4 Player from a respectable electronic store aswel

(I said I will pay the difference, she stated she wont buy anything over £40 for my xmas pres

)

Guess 1gb MP4 Player costing £37 aint that bad.

I hate Chinese branded music players!!!!

Yeah thats true,I'm just using it until a new Zen Vision M or iPOD comes out.
