Hiya,

I had shot a person project on my BMPCC and had it formatted to ExFat when I actually needed it in HFS+ so I can edit it on my Windows PC. I got this formatting software (HFS for Windows by Paragon Software) which I mistakenly thought was to convert the clips I shot from ExFat to HFS but it actually formatted the entire card to HFS and deleted all the clips I had on the SD. Is there any way I can get some help getting on how to get this footage back - I heard it is possible. The program I used was HFS Explorer. I really need to get this footage back. It wasn't RAW files. Any guidance and help would be more than appreciated!

I heard there is a free data recovery software called Photorec but I don't know if it is exclusively for photos. Does anyone know how to use it? I got the winrar version of it downloaded.

I've no idea about your specific needs but I've had great success recovering files from HDDs with a program called Recuva. I've not used it on SD cards though and don't know how formatting effects their file systems differently.

I got a program called Disk Drill and it found all my files but I couldn't recover more than 500 mb which is pointless. It is out of my price range. I found another software called Photorec but I can't navigate my way through it since I don't want to mess anything up. I just want the footage back in my possession. Doesn't need to be back on the SD card as long as I can get it back.
