Hey guys, me again.
Just a quickie,
I'm not a beginner PC user in any way. But..
I've got a basic Aldi Medion PC system that I've had ever since I was going into Year 11 at school for work etc. I've got a good rig (see my sig) and want to re-format the old Medion system to make it the family PC, i.e. send it back to how it was when I first bought it, bearing in mind it was a package and was pre installed Vista32 (have the disc) and also had like Nero essentials and a few other OEM things installed as well as a partition for drivers for the wifi card and TV tuner card as well as the card reader at the front etc.

Now all this may be by-the-by I dont know, basically if I go ahead and reformat the whole thing will my wifi card and card reader etc work still? Cos I doubt you could get drivers and I dont want the hassle. Should I reformat the C:\ partition and reinstall vista keeping the D:\ partition there which has all the support on it? Basically I dont wanna reinstall vista and find a nice smooth PC without support for the built-in wifi, card reader... etc etc.

Any ideas? Or do you need more info than that?
Thanks guys

I'm sure these pc's come with a partition specially reserved to restore the PC back to it's original state, i.e. how it was when you first bought it. Have you checked in BIOS anywhere for such an option? I had the option on an old Dell system which let me do that.

+1.

On the initial splash screen or at a point between the bios splash and the operating system starting it may have an option to 'Recover/Restore' by pressing an F button (like F12 etc). That will be your best bet.

Formatting and installing Windows Vista would probably still allow the devices to work but you may need to download drives/software if Vista does not install these automatically.
