Formatting XP HDD - Nooby Q

Don't know why but the process for this has slipped my mind - I want to reformat Local Disk C: with all my files (Duly Backed up to external drive) and XP Pro SP2 on it, and reinstall. Um right. I used to do it from DOS in the past, but Xp has got my stumped.

How do I start it off? I want to Re-format, and re-intstall XP. Easy. HELP!!

Not anymore

Just pop the cd in and boot from it, and when you are asked to select the target partition you will be given the option to format.
