formatting

Sorry title should be formatting. I am just gonna do a clean install weekend also gonna gut the whole pc out and clean it all out

Just wondering what format software everyone uses?

Are you using an SSD? If a mechanical drive then I usually just let the OS handle things i.e. delete the partition and install on a new one.

If you're using an SSD then, depending on the drive, you may have to use some form of erase software like HDDErase or something.

Windows quick format before the OS installation. It is an optional part of the installation process.

Yeah the drive is an M4 SSD. Would it make sense to format then use the windows quick format after before the os install?

Nah just let the OS installer do it for you, if you want to you can always delete any pre-existing partition, create a new one then format and install. All whilst in the installer.

No. Never full format an SSD.

As above, just use the Windows installer to remove the partitions, the carry on as normal.

Typically, it's a good idea to disconnect all other drives when installing Windows.
