Formula 4: British driver Billy Monger has serious accident

Yep looked terrible, pretty much went into the back at full speed when the guy ahead seemed stationery. You know it's bad when they don't show the scene live and cut away.

Hope they are ok :/

I just caught the final in car, didn't see the hit. Worst accidents I have seen are car at speed into car at no speed. Nasty, hope the lads are ok.

Having just rewatched it on YouTube it seems both drivers were looking around after the crash and the cars both look, incredibly intact.

they have been keeping details light at the moment, usually worrying.

edit: think they mentioned he was conscious, but being really careful/having trouble extracting him

It was a big hit, they will take their time but I can't see how he will get out with some broken bits, hopefully stuff that fixes easy.

Bloody hell. Strange accident though. No sign of any yellows at all although not a great picture and who stops on a live racetrack and at least appears to make no effort to get t the car off the track?

If they suspect any neck or back injury, they will immobilise him and disassemble the car around him, even cutting parts off.
Steering wheel was flapping around and with an impact that dislodges that it wouldn't surprise me if he's suffered some leg injuries.

Hope if he has any injuries, it's a fast recovery and he's back in the car soon.

Apparently the other driver involved had spun onto the grass on a damp track and had slid back onto the circuit, then whump...

Official statement.

This statement follows an incident involving Patrik Pasma (no. 21 – Carlin) and Billy Monger (no. 23 – JHR Developments) during Round 6 of the British Formula 4 Championship at Donington Park.

Monger has been carefully extracted from the car after suffering leg injuries, and has since been airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for further examination.

Pasma was also carefully extracted from his car. He was fully conscious and immediately taken to the on-site medical centre. He has since been taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre for further assessment.

Further information will be provided in due course.

Can't see any update on the F4 crash, was horrific how they cut to it, really hope both drivers are ok,

No update doesn't seem good. :( There was so much racing on the weekend that I haven't caught up with it all yet. British GT was a fun race, cars flying off everywhere with some good overtaking. Final race ended under the safety car after a massive shunt, both drives were ok. Cars definitely weren't though and the next round is in two weeks.
