Just discovered them and after listening through their tracks, a particular one stood out and i swear i've heard it before somewhere, track is called 'Believe Me'. Has it been used before somewhere, advert maybe?

Also what do people think of Fort Minor? Love them? Hate?

LOVE them...best album of last year without a doubt, it's good to see Mike Shinoda going back to his roots and leaving the Linkin Park rock stuff alone.

Also, make sure you check out the We Major mixtape by Fort Minor and also Apathy's new album..."Eastern Philosophy"

As for the track Believe Me, it's the most mainstream sounding on the album...so I guess it does have a feel like you may have heard it before!

You know more than me, update me. Linkin Park are on a break? Who is actually in Fort Minor from LP? Thought i recognised the voices. :o

Hmm, guess you're right. I asked a few friends who might have heard it, best answer i have is: "Its from some advert, advertising..erm..i can't remember". :(

I give up. I got desperate and asked my Mum and her response: "No i don't recognise it but its in the Backstreet Boys style, yeah, same kind of style".

/dies.

No doubt you heard the Lp & Jay-Z collab in 04...well following on from that i'm guessing that Mike Shinoda had quite a bit of contact with Jay-Z and basically started his own hip-hop project named Fort Minor. As far as I know, he is the only member of Linkin Park in the collective...I hesitate to use the term "group" as it brings up horrible pop connotations! The rest of FM is Apathy, Styles Of Beyond, Ryu and a few other guest appearances by the likes of Common.

As well as starting up Fort Minor, he also has his own label, whether it's all his or a sub-label on a bigger company, i'm not sure...but it's called Machine Shop...you'll hear it name checked on a few FM songs.

In regards to where he stands with LP...there has been no real comment, I can't imagine he'd leave the group as LP are one of the most original rock groups of recent years, i'm a real hip-hop head and they make rock music even I can listen to...but that's probably down to the huge hip-hop influence that Shinoda added to the group.

Although i've already said it, I can't stress enough to check out Apathy's album, i've been hammering it for weeks now...easily as good as FM!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but... LMAO. You need to listen to some real lyricists before you go making statements like that. Shinoda wouldn't know a credible rhyme if it wrote itself on a piece of paper and smacked him in the face with it.

Name a better hip-hop album last year...please :D

EDIT: A better US hip-hop album, I can think of a few UK hip-hop albums that were of a higher standard!

I heard some when they were just starting out (think it might have been an EP) and was really underwhelmed... But listening to the album now... WOW :D

I always rated Shinoda as a musical talent in Linkin Park but his lyrics in the Fort Minor stuff are great. I can't believe he played it all himself as well!

Any idea if more is in the pipeline?

yay!! another slagging Fort Minor thread.

erm, they suck. hard. whilst i like shinoda's voice, i hate every other thing about him. and not just as a rapper. i hate him as a person.

i have the album, i like them for what they are, i dont listen to that type of music normally but i do like them!

Wait, wasnt it me who introduced you to them sidewinder :p
