OK, watched this for 2 hours yesterday, and it was kind of like a very, very slow paced remake of The Thing, spread out into a series. Well, that's the vibe I got.

Have not looked online for any spoilers, but I'm going to guess it will feature something supernatural, like vampires.

Anyone else watch it? Anyone have a clue what kind of series it's going to be?

Are they portrayed as foreigners or is it the same style as Wallander, where they just speak English so they don't have to put a stupid accent on?

No I think it's like a research base, where half are Norwegian/whatever (:p) and half are Brits. There was one small conversation where two of them spoke to each other in Norse, so that the third chap couldn't understand, but the rest of the time they all spoke with the glish of the En.

They might be Finnish, or Swedish, or Danes... aren't they pretty much the same tho? :p

I'm liking it so far. We're still not getting any answers (to anything), but it's intriguing enough to want to continue. So far, not bad.

Another hour of intrigue, and I still have no idea what's going on :p

However, it's still compelling viewing (for me). Enjoying it still. Even if I do wonder how many episodes it will be before we actually learn anything.

I still think it's aliens

I thought this at first. However, the more I watch, the less I now think it's going to be supernatural at all.

In the last episode they really pushed that angle, with Gambon's character and the chap he visits, but I now think this is deliberate mis-direction.

Losing interest tbh. It's so drawn out, and, well, tonight's episode bored me.

The pace is glacial :/

I think part of the problem is that they keep giving screen time to the weakest characters. The black dude and his girlfriend are both complete muppets. The two cops are interesting, but the other characters are completely forgettable.

And the obligatory love interests/emotional guff are just boring filler. Need something interesting to happen, fast.

I still have S2 recorded but haven't watch any of them yet.

The way S1 ended just kinda killed my appetite for any more of it. It was nonsense. The show was best when you didn't know what was going on; once they showed their hand it was frankly a tad crap.

Judging by the comments I didn't miss too much :p
