Hi,

Long time lurker and occasional poster here.

Not sure where else to post this but today I can no longer see the Coronavirus forum in the list of forums. If I try to access a page from my browser history it shows "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action". Was working OK up until yesterday late evening.

Is there a reason for this? I couldn't see any mention of it anywhere else. I find most posters here are sensible so liked to keep a check on it.

Thanks.

There was a long period overnight where it was invisible to me. I assumed it had been removed for some reason (maybe even bandwidth-clogging) but it's fine for me now. Maybe that section is being rationed? :-)

This is the same for me too.
Can anyone confirm if the Corona Virus thread is closed or if there are any issues regarding viewing it?

Thanks for the links.
However when I click them I just get the following
Overclockers UK Forums - Error
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

Any ideas why I'm getting this message :)

Not sure then. There may be a minimum post count or something in order to see it.

Any info @Feek ?

We had a number of new accounts sign up just to stir trouble in there so we have introduced a minimum account age and post count in order to access the forum. The downtime overnight was while the permissions were applied.

Thanks for the explanation Feek.
Even though I have been a long time forum member (10 years) just lurking and not even signing in I do view the forum every day but do not post.
I'm assuming I am personally unable to view the Corona forum due to my post count which is a disappointment for me as I find it a wealth of information in these very troubled times.
Based on your reasons for limiting the forum due to new account holders causing trouble etc which is understandable, could it not be possible to allow all to view the forum and just regulate the actual posting rights to members who are new or have little or no posting count?.:)

Don't need to post, but would like to view - it is a useful resource

OK, thanks for the reply. It's a shame though as I found it useful as I'm sure many others did. Is it not possible to just prevent posting in it rather than prevent access altogether?

I'm looking into letting everyone view it but only allow posting when they've reached the criteria.

Thanks Feek. That would be greatly appreciated if possible. As I said earlier I find the discussions on this site generally good quality so it was nice to view during these strange times, even if I can't post.

Wow, after posting twice since 2013 I've now posted 4 times today! Shame posts in the New Memebers forum don't seem to up your post count!

Read through some of the forums and make some contributions. There must be something somewhere that interests you.

I'm with you on this Russell, have lurked here for a good few years, mainly in the f1 and film threads, maybe this is the push I needed to sign up!

I don't suppose you can say what the post limit/criteria is can you feek? I understand if not. I'll keep trying to make valuable contributions in the mean time and hope I can reach the target soon as it was incredibly informative
