So I have to do a ten minuite presentation on the history and lineage of forums.
I was just wondering if anyone here has any information they might like to share about them.
I have a pretty basic presentation made going into the history of the usenet system and bullitin boards and I am trying to find out when things like avatars, sigs, emoticons and embedding were first introduced.
I have some round about dates for these, but they are all estimates within 5-10 years...
Also any information on the first ever forums or stuff like that. just some interesting facts to make my presentation exciting as i figure that some of you may have been using forums for a while longer than me
i would ofcourse give credit where it is due!
