I was wondering if damage to your body panels in Forza 2 effects the cars handling/top speed at all.

The reason I ask is I've recently attempted the 7 lap Nurburgring endurance race. I was steadily gaining 7 seconds a lap over the opponents. However I then clipped a wall and damaged the front and rear bumpers and also the side skirts. After this no matter what I did the opponents were gaining on me and after 1 lap had caught up. The car had suffered no other damage in the collision and the engine/drive line/brakes were not damaged at all. My tyres were also in good condition.

Edit: oops should be in console and games :o

Well if it does, they should repair it in the pits for you lol. It wasn't fun loosing the rear wing on a 911 GT3 RSR

even if its just the rear wing id be happy, some of my cars go to just about controllable beasts to ice skating, powersliding, uncontrollable mutated overgrown monsters

but thats usually me being silly with the upgrades more than anything :D

Just done the 7 lap Nurburgring race, I now need a lie down lol after concentrating so much. I did a 2 stop strategy, pitting after 3 laps, then again after another 2. Finished in 53 mins with second place 14 seconds behind me.

 Congrats, I can't even do a single lap without giving up with eye strain :)

Yes damaging your Aero setup can cripple lap times thats for sure, would be nice if the pit dudes could pop off panels and replace them at least on the race cars.

Yer it was always fun getting into the lead and then slowing down on a corner so the computer behind slows down but doesn't hit you. Cue 6 other cars plowing into the back of him and you driving away undamaged! "Catch me now! Muhahah!"

hire a driver for the win. :)

and yes it does slow you down, i was losing about 7-9 seconds per lap with panal damage on my car. It's a shame the pits dont repair it though

You think you were silly?

I bought a Saab 9-3 aero which had the 200odd bhp and similar torque.

It's now running 540bhp with similar torque and it's FWD :D

I've had 196mph out of it so far! Can't find a straight long enough to max it right out!!!!
