Forza 2 & xbox360

Hey there,

I'm having a problem which is one of the most weird problems I've seen with a 360 so far. I'm trying to play Forza 2 on my friends xbox 360 core system, HDD installed & all that lark. It'll get into the game but once I select a track it'll go to the loading screen & just hang there. I've tried installing the game to the HDD also & it gets to 25% & says it cannot read the disk no more.

[edit: I should also say it allowed me to play the first 2 tracks in exhibition on the core 360]

It will read all other games like Saints Row 2, Fable II, Oblivion, Rockband, Guitar hero the list goes on.

Now here's the problem, My other friend brought his Elite around to play some rock band & I thought I'd give forza2 a try on his & guess what it works perfectly fine. No hanging, all tracks so far work. Same disk as well.

To the point of the thread, has anyone else had this problem?

Scratches that one DVD drive can read through but the other can't? Might be worth popping into a gameshop and paying the £2 to have the disc repaired.

The disc doesn't have noticeable scratches/dirt, Basically a brand new disc to say the least. But it does sound that way very odd though.

what unit/drive is it? new liteons are funny with discs

Yeah mates dashboard is up to date/I guess it has the latest update for the game also. The console isn't very old at all, He only got it 2 weeks ago. Couldn't tell you the model of the drive as I'm not down there at the moment but I'll check it up when I'm next there. It is a Core system I know that & it doesn't have a HDMI port on the back.

As I say all the other games he has play fine it is just Forza 2, So I think it is a dodgy drive in his box seeing as the game works on my friends Elite with no problems.

got it 2 weeks ago and it doesnt have a HDMI? :confused:

was it 2nd hand or ? cause im pretty sure its been a good 6+ months since they introduced the core with hdmi.

Well he got it from the place that is a station, So my guessing it is 2nd hand for sure. I honestly think it will go belly up very soon. Thats why I ask here if anyone else has had a problem similar to it.

He's already had 1 360 premium launch console, that stopped reading discs. Don't think he'll be too happy if this one is doing it already, His premium wouldn't load 360 games at all just kept going to the white screen saying put in an xbox 360 game disc, Amusing thing is it still plays DVD's & when I downloaded the Japanese demo of RE5 & copied it to CD that worked too

Finicky things these xbox 360's are.
