In my career, I have use both a Mercedes Benz AMG Black Edition and M class SUV as my R3 cars, both have the same engine and therefore same awesome 1045hp and 1015lb/ft torque.

Two questions I have though:

Firstly, is there anyway to stop the big SUV's from constantly rolling in Forza 3?

Secondly, I always use manual shift now as it helps reducing braking distance. I keep managing to damage my engine when downshifting during braking. Is there an optimum rev to get to before downshifting to avoid damage?

You should not be way high in the revs when downshifting, sure use it to help slow the car but wait until the revs die off a bit

I tend to brake hard to scrub off speed and the chuck it down the gears, you just need to get to learn the cars

SUVs will have a high centre of mavity, if you find that you are launching yourself off the curbs either don't attack the curbs so much or soften the suspension slightly.

As for the down shifting, you need to go down one gear at a time and you need to down shift so the revs don't blip past that limiter and damage the engine. I'd think 4/5k would be the optimum for that but just experiment.
