Just a random thought that came to me yesterday, on Forza 3, what are your stratergies for refuelling (if you have tyre/fuel turned on) during the endurance races?

Mine so far has been to wait until the low fuel light lights up, but then I was wondering just how much further on from that it would be possible to go? anyone any ideas?

I know on one of the 32lap endurance races, I managed to get up to about lap 26 or 27 before chickening out and having to refuel...

I just go in when the tyres need doing and refuelling is done then.

+1

My tyres usually go off well before fuel runs out, press the 'right' button on the D-Pad it shows your 'wear' levels on the tyres, when these go orange they are going off, get to red and you've gone too far!

my game seems different then....cos my fuel runs out before my tyres do....

Do you have the wear levels showing?

Tyres usually last 9 or 10 laps (depending on the length of the lap) if I remember correctly before they start going orange and the grip levels drop lots.

Thinking about it, I think if you don't have simulation damage on etc, the tyres don't wear!!

I run with sim damage on, and have never had to refuel before my tyres have gone!

Yea, tyres always go well before the fuel gets low

I try an stay out as long as possible before the grip is totally screwed by bad tyres

hmm...I'm pretty sure I have all damage turned on...yet my tyres do show signs of wear in the telemetry screen, but don't ever seem to get red or orange, unless I'm sliding sideways...

only other thing I can think of is maybe I've set my pressures lower so maybe it's saving the tyres that way...but I can still somehow manage 26 laps before needing to pit....

Sounds like you're looking at temperatures not wear when going sideways!
