Looking to get something new and with nothing out on the PS3 till September at the earliest it looks as though ill be going back to the 360.

Both these games look appealing but with them coming out within a couple of weeks of one another I don't see the need to get both so which is going to be the better bet?

No one really knows how good Dirt will be just yet, but we can pretty much guess what Forza is like judging by the demo.

Personally I will still be playing both alongside each other, but I can see myself playing Forza for longer.

Hopefully Dirt will be very good though as some of the clips looks awesome.
 
What driving games have you enjoyed in the past or disliked in the past?

One bloke said he didnt like forza because you just drive round in circles :p So dirt, based on wrc, etc would be a better bet I guess

Well thats where my dilemma occurs I've really enjoyed previous Colin McRae games but I've heard great things about Forza which I've been told is more your GT kind of racer

I can honestly see me purchasing both now :rolleyes:
 
I'm personally quite looking forward to Dirt.

Enjoyed the previous Colin McRae games, though not read a lot about this one yet. I always preferred the versions where you race against other cars though, rather than just against the clock.

Judging from the trailer I saw, I guess this one does have racing against opponents... in fact, the trailer I saw looked rather like Motorstorm, but faster.

Just had a look at the rainforest store, and it has it listed for Jun 22 on the Xbox360 and PS3, and also the PC. Hmmm, the console versions are both £40 though, and the PC version only £17.98!

I was planning on getting the PS3 version for some big TV racing... but now I have my PC hooked up to the Bravia with a DVI-HDMI cable, I shall have to have a think about it. Depends how well my rig can run it at 1920x1080... though now I think about it, I guess the PS3 version will only be 720p anyway, so I'm sure my PC can run it at 1280x720... runs most things at 1680x1050 no prob.

Def getting both. Not had a decent racing game since forza on the old xbox and no decent rally game since Rallysport 2 on the old xbox.
 
Dirt for me.

After playing the Forza 2 demo i found it quite boring to be honest.

Reading up on Dirt, it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Specially looking forward to the Hill Climb event :D

Yeah, don't blame you.

I'm a little disappointed not to see it listed for the PC, seeing as Flatout 1 and 2 made them their money on the PC.

Shame not to see it for the PS3 as well... you'd think they'd want to maximize profits.

Still, no matter, Dirt and Burnout Paradise will keep me going for a while :)

EDIT: Just noticed it (FO2) was also out for the Xbox and PS2. Never noticed that before, as I wasn't watching consoles that much. Even more of a shame then that they released Flatout2 for Xbox + Playstion +PC, but the new one only for Xbox(360)?

I'm thinking FM2 because a rental company is doing a deal if you trade in certain games you can get it for 9.99. One of those games is FN3 which is available for £17.99. So buy FN3 new for 17.99 add 9.99 and you have FM2 for a bargain price :D

I'm getting both. Totally different kinds of motorsport and both could be worth a purchase.

But if you HAD to chose, go for Forza 2.

lol, that's a great video.
Sometimes it was just as well they had the game logo in the corner so you could tell which was which.

I wonder if the PS3 version will still be 1080p when it's finished, with all the other cars on the screen... and hopefully bigger and more detailed tracks!

Don't know if this is news, but the CM: Dirt release for the 360 appears to have been brought forward a week - to 15.06 - seems a little odd to release it just one week after Forza when they looking at the same group of gamers.

Hopefully two great games within a week of each other. Would be nice to get a CM:Dirt demo before it hits the shops though.
