So Redbull and Ferrari have both announced they have left the Formula One Teams Association :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/16009873.stm

I for one am not surprised as FOTA has struggled in the past 18 months to agree the next revision of the Resource Restrictions Agreement - with some teams being accused of "fiddling the books" to get around the RRA. I'm pretty sure at least two of the teams re-jigged their super computers to allow them to meet the RRA requirements technically whilst actually upping their processing capabilities - based on chats with friends in their IT departments.

What next for F1 / FOTA? Will Ferrari once more raise the spectre of a break-away formula?

Intriguing at the very least.

F1 has run for many many years with no 'team association'. Previous team organisations failed because of the inevitable inability of the teams to agree on anything, and the same will happen here.

F1 will be fine.
