Found it for £200 but seems too good to be true? It says it was only opened once to do a Benchmark on it but if that was the case why would they sell it so cheap.

I don't think the worry over mined cards was them dying, more heavily worn parts i.e. fan bearings etc...especially given the issues msi had with their coolers & 100% fan speed.

You also need this person to define 'benchmarked'. For all you know this could mean the coolers been ripped off, 1.6v shoved through the core then loosely put back together waiting to die.

if you know the person and they to be trusted then fine. if its random or unknown person try searching there username and see if had issues with the said card.

funny how many times little hunting like that yields gold :p

was looking at members market for eg at someone selling a cpu thats great clocker oc stable yet a few checks, high temps, crashing all time on forums :p

doh ! :D

prices on 290s will drop quite soon with the new £250 being the retail. i wouldn't buy no 290 for 200 secondhand now no point might aswell buy a new one.

which is best to replace the 7990........the 290 or 290x crossfire...and what's the difference in FPS
THANKS

Well the MSI are the cheapest 290s at the moment. EDIT : Could go with 2 Powercolor PCS+ 290s and you get 8GB 2400Mhz RAM free with each one. Could sell those kits on then to recuperate money.

So i took a chance and purchased the card and it seems to be running ok but for some reason i cant get both monitors to display a picture at the same time. when windows loads up it only detects my primary monitor and i cant even see the second monitor but if i unplug the primary monitor then the second monitor comes on right away.

the card has dl-dvi-d*2 / HDMI / Display Port

im currently using 1 of the dvi slots and a hdmi slot as i dont have 2 of the same dvi connectors. is this the reason why they both wont show at the same time ? on my old card i was running 2x mini dp so i never tried to run 2 seperate connectors.
