Found new hardware wizard

I have just come to install my scanner when I ran into a little problem. I plug it in (usb) and the found new hardware window pops up. I dont have the CD so i would usually click on "search the internet" or similar. But since reinstalling windows a few weeks back that hasnt been in the options?

I know i can just google the driver but i would really like the "search the internet automatically" feature returned. Windows XP by the way.

Right click 'My Computer'.
Choose Properties.
Choose Hardware.
Then choose Windows Update.
Set your preference in there.
