Found out just how sharp my global chef knife is.

Cutting up a chilli in the usual way, blade against the fingers with the tips tucked in to avoid the blade. But I get slightly distracted and as I move my hand along the chilli my fingertips stay in place.

It's very lucky that my fingers were almost perfectly horizontal. I sliced from the middle of my nail through it to the skin underneath but just missing actual flesh. I now have a rather large chunk of nail missing.

And because of the curve of a nail around the finger I have a nail that looks like a crab claw and is catching on everything.

Hurts like hell!
