Found Trojan - How should I proceed?

AVG has found a Trojan Horse virus on my PC and its got something to do with a program called Net meter that I use. AVG has put it in the vault, but how should I proceed from here? How can I get rid of Netmeter safely? I was going to uninstall it, but wasn't sure if this would be safe. I was going to just delete it from my program folder but I'm unsure if this will mess my registry up.

Need some assistance please.

Uninstall AVG. Install Kaspersky. Full system scan. Done.

Download a copy of HiJackThis.

First make a folder on your computer in my documents called Hijackthis and then Unzip it to that folder.
Then doubleclick the Hijackthis.exe.

Click the Scan button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become Save Log click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on Edit > Select All then click on Edit > Copy then paste the log at one of the sites listed here, or at www.techmonkeys.co.uk.

It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required,
so do NOT fix anything yet.

I'm not sure which Net Meter you're using but I think this report has "false positive" written all over it.....
