Fowler signed up for another year

Really happy for him, it would have been disgraceful for him not to have gotten one.
Not often you get a player desperate to play for a club, to let one go who does would be stupid.

I really don't see what Fowler has to offer anymore, he's on his last legs, although I'm sure he raises the morale of both players and supporters.
I wouldn't say he was on his last legs. I wouldn't want him to be our main striker next year but he will be handy to have on the bench or against a smaller side etc, as he is still a natural finisher. He's scored 4 in 15, 3 disallowed (2 wrongly) and considering he isn't fully fit YET thats not too bad. The decision to keep him was a no brainer really; what he earns in wages he will make 5x more through shirt sales (especially with 3 new shirts coming out next year; home, away and euro), as you said Kev he is great for the players and fans morale and he isn't bad to have sitting on the bench.
I really think we will see him back to his best (well not quite, but you know what i mean) after a good pre-season. Certain players a made to play for certain clubs and Fowler was made to play for Liverpool (suprisingly he was a die-hard Everton fan as a kid).

Fowler offers conversion of chances. Simple as that. But in addition he has more of a creative element to his game now as well. He's played well with all his strike partners and has great touch and good vision. He's good for the club and im well chuffed this 6 month spell worked out. Hopefully with a good pre season we may yet see him improve.

im not surprised by this, i think its more due to the charisma he has and the positive feeling he brings round the dressing room. Having a legend like that in your team is going to do wonders for your morale.

Fact is though, hes not half the player he used to be, sure he still has the same goal hunting instinct he had in the old days, but he just isnt the same player, and definatley not one i'd want as a first choice striker.

Fowler offers us another option up front and is an excellent squad player to have. He still has the finishing touch and his game was never based on pace.

It is a signal that Pongolle, Morientes and Cisse have all got their heads on the block and will be pimped around in the summer for possible suitors. It just hasn't happened for any of these players in the Premiership. Perhaps their games are more suited to the continental style of football.

To be honest I would like to see Cisse given another season as although he has been utterly diabolical at times for us this was really his first full season. I would also like to see him played up front and not on the wing although his playing style isn't really suited to Benitez's gameplan. Cisse thrives on the ball over the top whereas Rafa's style of play involves a striker who holds the ball up and links up with the second striker or brings the midfield into play. It was painfully apparent against Chelsea in the fa cup semi when he took Crouch off for Cisse that Cisse is just unable to hold up the ball and play others in.

Word on the street around here is that Dirk Kuyt will be coming to Liverpool.

I'm sorry but again your talking out of your backside. You should bitch about half the crap in your team instead of being jealous of your rivals. :)

Excuse me?

Thats so pathetic its almost funny.
Just like Crouch and Morientes!
Boom Boom Tish!
:p

Even if robbie Fowler played football from a wheel chair he would still be better than Lurch and 'nando.
"nando" its like hes the runt of the team.
Well i say "like" he actually is.
