FPS counters in games

hey all, people keep talking about what FPS theyere getting in games but i dont know how to get the counter to show itself, take for example crysis warhead? anyone point me in the right direction?
 
varies from game to game usually requires you to enter a command in the console like com_drawfps 1 etc google the console commands for the game you want it show in should be easy to find

other alternative is to use fraps though i prefer the inbuilt oneswhere possible

depending on game as well you might want to look into the max fps command to see what your fps will be when not limited
 
Best bet is to use FRAPS or x-fire, which has one built in.

There is also a console command for crysis to show, but FRAPS is easier as it allows this in all games.
