FPS Dips 3090ti

I'm getting fps drops from 120 fps to 60ish

My specs are

Asus Z790 Hero
Nvidia RTX 3090ti
32gb corsair dominator ram 5600mhz overclocked to 6200mhz
I9 13900kf 5.8ghz overclocked to 6ghz
SSDs are pcie nvme drives
Windows 11

On assassins creed valhalla I'm getting a average of 120fps with dips down to 60 this happens when I'm standing still in not a very complex scene. It seems to happen every couple of seconds, it's not always noticeable depending on the game and as to whether gsync hides it.

It's making me pull my hair out haha.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Turn off any overclocks you have and remove any game overlays. For example xbox games steam Ubisoft. Remove all unnecessary software. are you on the latest bios, chipset drivers and graphics drivers.

There is also an argument that if you are only noticing it due to overlays, then it's not actually much of an issue if G-sync is disguising it

Does is happen with v-sync on and off? worth checking Process Explorer and a DPC latency monitor to make sure nothing in the background is impacting performance as well.

I have heard people prescribing a change in power plan through Nvidia's control panel.. maybe try that as well

Cpu temp when gaming ?
