FPS drops when watching streams?

Ever since I installed my new 4790k and my new motherboard I've been having issues with getting quite substantial fps drops/micro-stuttering in all of the games that I play whilst watching a stream on my second monitor. In order for these fps drops to disappear I have to drop the quality of the stream to medium (Twitch.tv). This is annoying because I never had this issue before, and was using worse, older hardware? Nothing about my internet has changed either. Just wondered if anyone knew anything about this and/or could suggest something to try. I've also had to drop my GPU into the x8 slot on my motherboard so that my case can occupy my reservoir/pump, could this have something to do with it? Thanks

Specs:
4790k
8gb 1600
R9 280X
GB UD3H-BK

Internet is 150mbps down, 11 up.

maybe try disabling hardware acceleration for adobe flash or whatever its called
right click stream > settings > first tab

I get this also, playing a game with a stream open on the other screen, always results in fps drops.

I have similar spec to you.
