Morning all.
I recently acquired a 9070 GPU.
My system is a 5600x 32gb ram.
I feel there is not much improvement over my 6750xt..
GPU is not using anywhere near full power. It's pulling less than 100w (see link). I see massive improvement in other games but hell divers and space marine seem to have only seen minor improvements. https://ibb.co/rKYdKDnw
Also my steel nomad score seems to be on the low side.

Have you looked at something like an afterburner graph? Your 85% CPU utilisation could easily be 4 cores at 100% and the other 2 at 40%. What res are you playing at?

Try upping some GFX settings to see if that kicks the card into a higher gear...pcie bandwidth rarely makes a difference, unless your card is an 8x one (which yours won't be). You could try knocking back any settings that impact the CPU too... (sometimes it mentions which ones in the menu)

Considering I had to upgrade from a 5800x to a 5800x3D to get the most out of my 6950XT I would say that your 5600x, no matter how fine a cpu it is, is just not powerful enough in some games to power the 9070. If you want the most out of the 9070, I would think a 5700X3D would be the minimum. Right now in games like Cyberpunk 2077 my 5800X3D is starved a little bit for power to feed my 9070 non xt. It aint bad and the GPU is performing at near max most of the time but there are moments where it could have used some more CPU grunt and GPU utilization drops briefly to 80ish%. Though its mainly when using windows this problem arise.

SM2 is heavily CPU bottlenecked.

However I think in general a 5600x will bottleneck a 9070.

Try and get a 5700x3d for a cheap upgrade.

Use VSR and set your resolution to 4k. You should now see the GPU closer to 100% and the cpu getting an easier ride. Compare the fps and report back.

What specific Mobo do you have? It may be that you have your PCIe bandwidth halved when using 2 NVMes. As its only PCIe 3.0, this would have an impact. You'd be running the equivalent of PCIe 5.0 x 2 bandwidth.

There's no doubt your CPU is a bottleneck though. My 10900k was a bottleneck for my RTX 3090 and that had better gaming performance than a 5600x with the RTX having worse performance than a 9070.
