Well I've played Medal of honour and Cod games a few times and enjoyed them. Just single player (campaign?) and difficulty set to easy (recruit).
10 years ago an fps would keep my attention for a couple of hours.

These days I only play for half an hour or so then lose interest. I'm thinking perhaps I should delve into multiplayer or online mode and see if it keeps my interest.

I dabbled briefly in a multiplayer shooter years ago (forgot which one) but ended up just getting nailed within seconds each time I entered the game.

Anyone recommend an Fps for a beginner?

Perhaps Halo Infinite?
- Multiplayer is free
- The time to kill is quite high
- There aren't too many crazy mechanics so the learning curve is relatively shallow
- It's a pseudo-arena shooter so a better downtime:action ratio compared to round based games like CS or battle royales.

Perhaps you'd be overall more engaged in PVE rather than PVP? Helldivers 2 is the big thing at the moment but others will be able to comment more on that in terms of beginner friendliness.

Thank you for that Zefan.
That will be helpful once I get around to getting online. For now, I'm going to have to google most of those terms and acronyms you mentioned.

firsh few come to mind are:
destiny 2 - not played my self but its co-op
planetside 2 - progression, can be easy to die but large maps and game play, free to. pvp
team fortress 2 - pvp pop in & pop out
deep rock galactica - might be a good way to go if you have people to play with, its PvE
leftt for dead series - co-op pve
boarderlands series
minecraft = possibly might be an option with some mod packs.
fps can be unforgiving if your being spawn camped.

i think i agree with Zefan, i think you want look at co-op/PvE

call of duty zombies online.

i must have lost hundreds of hours playing it.

it can be very addictive, i was on it about 6 hours a day at one point lol.

the more you play it the better you get and the more entertaining it gets.
