BF2042 doesn’t have a frame limiter in the main menus so that might be the cause. Is your framerate capped during the rounds?

Yeah my Gpu and system fans go nuts between rounds in BF2042 and then run silent during each match

It's stupid.. but yer I think that's the thing.
I set it in the amd drivers now let's see if that changes anything.

But ever way I just thought something wasn't working, but it's just the game.

Turn off in game frame caps and use a global one instead like via RTSS. No quirks like this then and it's at the cap regardless of if you are in a round or in a menu.

I manually add each game into RTSS and set a chosen frame cap, 60fps, 120fps, etc. The global is "off" so only when that game loads, the frame cap is active for that game.

This is what I do but I use the NVCP. Global framerate cap of 118, Vsync off in game and control panel, Gsync on. Occasionally I set a specific game profile i.e. 60fps cap in Witcher 3 RT.

No more screaming 500fps on menus or loading screens, no more vsync input lag.

Remember to set your chosen hotkey to toggle framecap on/off - Sometimes it might be useful when running a benchmark in a game to get the max fps etc, then just hit the toggle again :p My hotkey is ALT+* so there's no way I'll accidentally toggle it.
