FPS twitching?

as i play cod4 online, i see in SD when specing someone, some really really god players are always "twitching" for a lack of better word. they constantly moving, even if remaining in the same spot.

i cant play like that, and it seems only the good ones can :(, does anyone else do i, and why?
 
Yeah, I strafe left and right randomly when in the same place. I also duck randomly too. Make that sniper work for his shot. Anyone standing still for a second is an easy target.

It doesn't make them superior it's just something they have picked up as they play, so now just do it without thinking, and it just adds to tier skill of knowing where people go and good aim.
 
It's like those players on counterstrike who constantly switch between knife and rifle, and I mean constantly as they run from spawn.

I'm always looking left and right to try and hear players when on smaller servers.

heh thing is if you switch to knife once, then you need to go From knife to pistol to gun so when you hit Q it gives you your pistol instead of knife/nade.
 
its a very good accuracy exercise to move your guy in a small circle (up,left,down,right,up,left,down,right.....) while trying to keep your aim in the same place....

another one is to aim at your teammates heads while waiting for the round to start

throw in some crouches as well to get used to adjusting your aim automatically when you or your opponent ducks

all just practice to make you a better gamer

as for switching weapons constantly thats probably just nervous tension... i have the tendenancy to reload more often than i should for the same reason that any moment when im not actively engaged im making sure im ready.. which can often involve silly things like reloading the same gun over and over again despite it being fully loaded
 
I picked up the habit of half-scrolling my gun to the pistol, but then scrolling back before it actually changes to the pistol in COD:UO and I keep doing it in COD4 without realising im doing it.
 
I never stand still or walk in a straight line & have even been recognised with a different player name because of how erratic my chars movement is.
 
I do this too in BF2 without thinking, not only because it makes aiming harder for the enemy but also because it keeps you on your tiptoes, keeps the rhythm alive like when your dancing, keeps your reflexes sharp lol.
 
mmm now im going to try to do it, so it becomes natural aswell...

i always reload even after one shot, i dunno why, but sometimes thats detramental, becuase if it takes only a few shots to kill, then i reload and half way through reloading, someone comes and kills me...i was so used to it i started doing it with LMGs aswell, so now i swtich weapon after i shoot with lmgs :D
