I'm playing Far Cry 6, and just thought in real life the enemy would hear you reload. Are there any games where the AI or in a MMOPG game you hear teammates/enemy reload and the AI investigates?

If not seems a thing they've missed.

In CSGO reloading gives off an audio cue that the enemy can hear. It's often a better option to play with a near empty mag than to reload and surrender your location to the opposition.

It's possible an enemy will hear you reload. However:

1/. If you're only now reloading, chances are you've just been firing, so they'll already know where you you are.
2/. Most humans with a modicum of firearm familiarity can reload their weapon faster than an enemy can do anything about it, with the exception of shotguns.
3/. I don't know the Far Cry 6 scenario, but in most situations if the enemy hear you reloading, you'll usually have a bunch mates with weapons still ready, who will catch them out as they move on you.

So nice idea, but not very realistic and ultimately not a thing. It's a bit like the M1 Rifle going 'ping' when empty and all the myths around that.

I was thinking more of when you reload, if the enemy hears you, the AI then lays supressing fire and tries to flank you.

You don't need to wait for someone to reload before you supress and outflank them... except maybe an entrenched machine gun in a sustained fire role.

Insurgency Sandstorm seems to have that. They're particularly good at running into the room you are defending the second you pull a pin out of a grenade and killing you before you throw it

Might be rose tinted memory but i think i remember FEAR doing stuff like that. It certainly had a fairly robust enemy AI specially for the time
Fond memories of FEAR. That was a great game at the time, AI was engaging, cool weapons, graphics etc. Wonder how it has stood the test of time.

Fear AI was awesome back in the day, the way they would flank, traverse obstacles and become aggressive on queue with their radio chatter was very impressive.

A part of me wants to say STALKER, though I think that was more noises through the environment or using certain equipment. Not sure if it was due to mods but I've seen some stuff in those games that I've never seen anywhere else before.

Two distinct memories I have are of watching two squads of opposing factions face off in a firefight, using lots of cover, throwing grenades at each other and trying to flank. It ended with one side all dead bar two guys left on the floor bleeding out. The other squad disengaged and started looting the corpses and healing each other, except for one member who walked over to the wounded, picked up their dropped side arm, switched to it and then proceeded to execute them both with their own gun before casually walking away. It was properly brutal and shocking to see from an AI.

The second was me creeping through Red Forest early into a sandbox game on the anomaly mod. I had no night vision and had to use the flashlight sparingly to avoid detection from some nearby bandits and monsters. I finally made it through, stopped to plan my next step in the map screen and was suddenly blasted down without warning from behind. I thought I must have walked past somebody in the dark right next to me and completely missed them. I loaded the autosave from moments earlier, turned around and the guy was actually tracking and sneaking behind me waiting for an opportunity to kill me. I loaded an even earlier save from just after I passed the bandits and he was still there, he must have been hunting me for a good 10-15 minutes, waiting until I was clear of all the other potential enemies to strike.
