Have you checked your system for spy ware or anything like that?

Is it online games or off line games?

And lastly press ctrl+alt+delete and choose task manager. Check to see if any programs are using a lot of memory/cpu usage. And lso check for any programs which may be there that you don't recognize.

Hi there

When you say it has trouble playing these games do you mean they are is jumpy // choppy. Dont suppose you have any torrents or P2P applications running in the background?

Is there an "excessive" amount of harddrive activity? have you defragged the hard drive recently?

Hi,

has there been any new patch releases you have installed for the game? Sometimes they defualt the Video settings when installed.

New Graphics card drivers?, again these can default settings in the windows control panel, like vertical sync etc.

just an idea.....

Have you tried the games in single player mode not using an internet connection just so that you can rule the connection out the equation totally?

If you turned your PC off incorrectly or had a powercut or the plug fell out.. etc.

Your drivers may have been corrupted which I had a similar problem like that. Boot into safe mode then uninstall your gfx drivers and motherboard drivers. Then reboot and install the new updated ones :)

Maybe try this anyway.
