I'm going to be building a new system this weekend using the R3. In terms of cooling I have a gelid tranquillo, two additional 120mm fans and my GPU (6950) has a dual fan set up. Are there any R3 owners out there with tips on how they set their case up to acheive optimum cooling/airflow?

I have one and i have two intake at front and one intake at the bottom which feeds air upwards to my gpu. my psu is flipped over so the psu takes air from the outside. then i set my h50 as out take, my system runs quite cool and quiet :) (though i need to add more exhaust fans when i have the money)

this sounds about right, usually i have front and side fans as intake.
then rear and top as exhaust.

Thanks guys, was meant to get the case today but inexplicably OCuk just didn't dispatch the goods, still they've offered me a saturday delivery so hopefully it'll come nice and early.

I'd really appreciate any pics people have of their case for cable management and general layout ideas. Ta.

ruskle, have a look through my threads, there's a few pictures of my old setup in my R2 (identical to the R3 in terms of cable management) to give you an idea of what can be done in terms of cable management. It could've been a little better in some respects, but it's not half bad.
gwobbles has the right idea as far as airflow goes, an additional top 140mm fan would be a good idea though. That's what I had, temps were fantastic and the system was nice and quiet.

Cheers man, I think they look well sleek, gonna have it sat up on top of my desk. Will post some pics myself when its all set-up thats if I don't fcuk it up:eek:

yup i love the minimalistic and non aggressive look of the R3, you cant really eff it up anyways lol my routing skills are no good as this is the first case ive had to route and tidy, i just tried to do it the most logical way i could think off lol... and yes ill be changing bottom fan to 140mm and switch the current 120mm to the top as exhaust, also gonna add another apache black for push pull on my h50 :)
