Fractal Define r4 side fan question

I'm looking to get a fractal r4 but I really want to be able to use a side fan and not have it get in the way of my cpu cooler.

Here is a picture of the case

The mount looks pretty low so I thought there wouldn't be an issue but then checking fractals website they say "CPU coolers up to 170mm tall (when no fan is installed in the side panel)"

Anyone with this case using a side fan or if not could they check this for me?

i think it will depend on how wide the cpu cooler is and which way it is mounted

Normally you shouldn't need to.

Also - what CPU cooler are you using/thinking of using?

I'd just like to be able to use a side fan. Have one of those fancy demciflex filters I want to try out

Cpu cooler is a xigmatech dark knight night hawk but I don't mind switching for a lower profile one if the side fan will get in the way.

I think that fan mount is too low to interfere but not according to fractals site >_<

you could mount the cooler blowing upwards? would be much less likely to hit
maybe on the site they just trying to cover themselves for ALL coolers, yours is a 120mm i think..
