Hey,

I recently brought a Fractal Design Core 3000 and a XFX ATi 5770
I've set everything up, however the DVI connections on the back of the GPU are too high up and do not allow enough room to plug in a DVI cable. The Display Port is low enough to plug in. Is this a problem with the case or the gpu?

If you want I can try and get a few photos to show what I mean.

Thanks.

..hope this model dont have the quality issues as some of the Fractal cases has proven to have.

Do you mean the mobo is situated too high? Or are the dvi slots too low?

wouldn't wrong stand-offs make the graphics card not sit right in the slot though, which is a different problem from this?

Ive had a Core 3000 delivered last week and i can only recommend it. No defects or bad finish even the 2 side panels are reversible so I could hide away the unsightly grill on the opposite side :P

Here's some photos.

I think it's the GPU that's the problem. The ports are too high up and one of them isn't straight.

Is this problem with the XFX ATi 5770 or have I got an unlucky one?

Have you tried unscrewing the graphics card from the backplate and then inserting the cable and screwing the cable in place ? If that works then screw the graphics card back down, hopefully that will line everything up right then. It does look like that case is not very well designed at the back slot area  fractal design .. Also another thing to do is untighten all the motherboard screws and stick the graphics card in and try line it up better with that slight movement you will have, see if that also helps and if it does just leave the graphics card in place and tighten the motherboard screws that you can reach then pull the graphics card out gently and tighten the rest. I see your problem now mate and I think you are thinking same as rest of us here and wondering how they tested these cases .

I'll try your suggestion. To me it seems that the GPU ports are too high up comparing to the photo on the OC website.

Cheers
